Beta Terms of Service

Effective: June 2, 2026 · Last updated: June 2, 2026
Welcome to the Compass Beta. We are excited to have you test our platform. Because this is an early version of the software, we need to set a few ground rules. By creating an account and using the Service, you agree to the following terms.

1. The Software Is “As-Is”

This platform is a work in progress. You will encounter bugs, errors, and unexpected downtime. We provide this software exactly “as is” and make no promises or warranties about how well it will work or how often it will be online.

2. Data Loss and Acceptable Use

Do not enter real student records, sensitive personal information, or actual business data into this system unless you are authorized to do so under FERPA and applicable institutional policy. The system may crash, and any data you enter could be permanently deleted at any time. You are completely responsible for keeping your own backups of anything you type or upload.

3. Limitation of Liability

Because this is a free, unfinished product, you agree that you cannot sue us if something goes wrong. We are not legally or financially responsible for any lost time, lost data, or business disruptions caused by using this platform. Our total maximum liability to you for any claim is $0.00.

4. Ownership of Feedback

The goal of this beta is to hear your ideas. If you give us feedback, suggest a new feature, or report a bug, we fully own those ideas. We can build your suggestions into the software without paying you, giving you credit, or asking for further permission.

5. Confidentiality

This platform is in beta and some features are still in development. You agree to keep sensitive pre-release details strictly confidential. You may not share proprietary algorithms, unreleased feature details, or internal documentation with competing software companies. Public reviews, screenshots, and videos of general usage are allowed once the beta is publicly announced.

6. Right to Terminate Access

We are providing you with temporary access to test the system. We reserve the right to suspend, lock, or permanently delete your account at any time, for any reason, without giving you prior notice.

7. Privacy and Data

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your email or personal information. Free account holders are opted in to occasional product-update emails and can opt out at any time.
